You Cant Get Paid What You’re Worth..at Work.
If you’re like most people you go to work everyday and you do a job for someone. They typically will pay you less than you’re ‘worth’ – not in the sense of your ultimate worth, because I happen to believe that you are priceless, but in terms of the relative worth of your output vis a vis the goals of the business. Its just basic economics – they cannot pay you exactly what you’re worth or even close to it because it would drive them out of business if they did. Its the value of your surplus labor – the delta between the value of your surplus labor and what they pay you contributes to the profit of the business.
Why do I mention this here? Because its a common complaint of many people working a day-to-day job and is often used as a jumping off point of dissatisfaction and the fuel for many fantasies of ‘what I would do if I didn’t have to work here’ musings. Interestingly enough, its almost never enough of a motivator for someone to say “We are done here!” and walk out of their ‘job’ to pursue a different reality, one in which they are for instance, their OWN boss.
What keeps you from getting started
My theory is that free floating job dissatisfaction actually masks another issue that is deeper and really keeps us stuck in place at our current place of employment. This is also a common problem with a lot of people and results from attachments to poverty and lack that can keep us stifled and in a paradox state – e.g. we are doing the Work that we are here to do, but somewhat dismayed at the lack of progress toward our living the life that we truly want to live. There can be a number of reasons for this – but the chief issue that we have found is that most people have little idea of the nuts and bolts of how to monetize what it is that they do so they can also begin living the life of their dreams from a wealth building standpoint. Additionally many denominations from our youth have implied from a doctrinal standpoint that poverty and suffering is what one should expect, if you are trying to ‘do good’. So there you have it – a recipe for dissatisfaction and heartache for many people who feel that Great Spirit/The Divine/God has a ‘call’ on their lives in some form and they feel led to express it in any number of ways.
The Local Maximum and Moving Your Booty
The local maximum is a mathematical term – It’s like standing on top of a small hill, when next to you is a mountain. You want to go up the mountain, but you can’t go straight from where you are to the top of the mountain… you must first go DOWN in order to go UP, and you hate to go down, because after all you really, really want to go up!! The principle of the local maximum keeps people stuck. It can keep you in bad relationships, in abusive relationships, in jobs you hate, in states of addiction to drugs. That Valley of Uncomfortable keeps you from working out, from starting a new business, from doing something, anything risky and from facing things that you are afraid of.
Why is this?
Because of the phenomenon of going down to go UP is scary and uncomfortable – lets say you are at a job that you despise right now and you want to GET FREE and start your own business. Because you aren’t currently doing said business, you are going to have to learn some things about working online that you probably dont currently know. But for now, you are looking from the Local Maximum where you are currently – at the Real Goal of making more money and having your own business!!
Can you do it!? Heck Yeah!!! In the world of ideas and potential you can DO anything..but in your REAL LIFE, in order to realize that dream of having your own business, you are going to have to do a number of things if you want to be successful, but two things pretty immediately.
1. Get off your BOOTY and BEGIN LEARNING HOW. We have tons of resources here to help you do that. – this one in particular: The Hustle Free Business Class
2. (eventually) Stop doing what you are doing now and devote most of your energy toward doing what you want to do. When that day comes, lets be honest – unless you were independently wealthy to begin with, you will have to forgo the steady paycheck they are paying you now until your business income catches up. In other words, you will probably have to go DOWN a little before you go UP to where you want to be. Same thing happens if you get out of that sucky relationship…or finally start going to the gym after dedicating a ton of time to the Art of Doing Nothing.
Its going to hurt…at first. Eventually you’ll get better at it and things will be a LOT better.
Dont let the Local Maximum keep you stuck.
Cut down on the time spent in the Valley of Uncomfortable. If you want to make more money and stop working for Someone Else – align yourself with sources of knowledge (like Infinite Couple) and opportunities for income generation that will cut down dramatically on the time period of DOWN before UP.

You are going to have to work hard – that’s true. You are going to have to do some things you may not be used to doing in order to be successful. There WILL be growing pains.
